HISTORY OF AGGARWAL


Maharaj Agrasen is regarded as family God for all Aggrawal community. The word "Agrawal" takes you 5000 years back to the famous regime of emperor Maharaja Agrasen, the leader of social reformation to uplift the down trodden human beings and a well known personality in the Indian Culture & Civilization.

The icon of nonviolence, messenger of Peace, Maharaja Agrasen was the eldest son of King Ballabh of Pratapnagar. King Ballabh was a Suryavanshi ( lineage from the Sun). According to the Mahalakshmi Vrath, the age then was the last stages of Dwaapar Yug. The birth of Maharaj Agrasen took place about 5190 years ago according to the current calendar. Even when he was very young, Prince Agrasen was well known for his compassion. He never discriminated against anyone and the subjects were very pleased with him.

Agrasen became concerned with maintaining a long lasting peace to end the enmity. So Agrasen went to the city of Kashi and started penance to propitiate Lord Shiva. Pleased with the severe penance of Agrasen, Lord Shiva appeared in front of him and advised him to propitiate Shri Mahalakshmi. Maharaj Agrasen began meditating on Her. She was pleased with the dedication of Maharaja Agrasen and appeared before him. Goddess Mahalakshmi blessed Agrasen and suggested that he take up the Vaishya tradition of business for the sake of the prosperity of his people and give up his Kshatriya tradition. As per Maharaja Agrasen's guidance, all 18 Gotras are in the forefront of social service. Full story is given inside.

Colour of the flag is Saffron (Kesaria).


The Sun, the Coin and the brick are in silver colour. Width of the flag is 18" ( 18 inches ) and length of the flag is 21" ( 21 inches ) and have a cut of 9" ( 9 inches ) in 'V' shape on the right side of the flag. The Flag can be made in this ratio of any size.
